Instructions and modifications for the two basic floor sitting postures for yoga and meditation practice. Remember that you can always sit in a chair or recline supine in Savasana, too. When you sit on the floor, do it with as much care and attention as you stand with in Mountain. You'll want 1-3 yoga blocks, blankets, pillows or even couch cushions - use what you have at hand and find your comfortable seat.
Basics for beginners and beginners' mind: focuses on the Warriors, I, II, III to establish safe alignment principles in forward and side facing poses, building lower body strength and flexibility. January 2014.

7 minute warm up or stand alone practice that begins with the Badlands take on Cat-Dog pose and adds motion that creates core engagement as well as progressive, breath connected whole body movement. Starts on hands and knees with a modification for tender wrists offered. Ends with brief Savasana and gratitude practice.

The Bija Mantra - or seed sounds are associated with each of the 7 major chakras from Muladhara, or root, chakra up to Sahasra, or crown, chakra. In order, they are Lam, Vam, Ram, Yam, Ham, Om, <silence>. You can chant one in repetition, as in the first portion of this recording, or each in turn as I do after chanting each one successively. Play around! Chant with the recording a few times, then follow your heart and listen to its sound.
